neck pain at desk

If you work at a desk and have been experiencing headaches, you’re not alone. Many people struggle with headaches that stem from poor posture and an unbalanced work environment. These headaches can get in the way of your focus and your family life. Check out this video for the full demonstration of how to avoid headaches if you're a desk worker!

Tip 1: Adjust Your Screen Height

Start by making sure your screen is at eye level. If your monitor or laptop is too high or too low, you’ll end up straining your neck, which can lead to tension headaches. Keep your head in a neutral position by aligning your screen right in front of your face.

Tip 2: Switch Between Sitting and Standing

Don’t stay in one position all day. Whether you’re standing or sitting, staying still for long periods creates a stagnant environment for your body. I recommend following the 40/20 rule: spend 40 minutes standing and 20 minutes sitting. Changing positions throughout the day reduces tension and promotes better circulation, both of which can help keep headaches at bay.

Tip 3: Move Often

Our bodies are designed to move, so take regular breaks to stretch, walk, or adjust your posture. Even small movements make a big difference over time, helping you stay headache-free.
